Sexsmith Farm Co-operative

Sexsmith Farm Co-operative was established in 2010 by local farmers to help meet demand for community-based agriculture.

We are a community of farmers whose mission is to cultivate a sustainable food production and distribution system rooted in Niagara.

Co-operative members are farmers committed to growing produce using natural methods for Community Shared Agriculture. The structure allows producers to be owners of the distribution system and enjoy a direct relationship with customers.

Sexsmith Farm Co-op is a member of the Local Organic Food Co-op Network and has received vital support from the Ontario Natural Food Co-op, Carrot Cache, and CERF Niagara.

We participate in shared seed buying, collaborative planning and community education projects.

Demand for Community Garden programs lead to the development of our garden-based education programs. Adult workshops began in the fall of 2011 and were a huge success with our newcomer community.

CSA Weekly Garden Share

Community Shared Agriculture offers fresher, healthier alternatives to produce picked too early and shipped for thousands of miles before making it to your plate.

CSA is an initiative to grow ecologically-friendly food and foster relationships connect communities and their farmers. Farmers receive payment prior to the start of the season. Subscribers receive a weekly share of the farm's bounty. Farmer and community share benefits and risks, including climate-related and other factors beyond the control of the farmer.

When you join the freshest crops available will grace your table and you can track your produce from seed, to field, to plate. Share baskets reflect the local growing season, lighter in spring, and heaviest during mid-summer and fall.

Baskets are available from early June until Thanksgiving.

Join now and enjoy shares at 2012 prices.
